# How much does TikTok pay for 1 million views?

By PostMesh team. Published 2026-10-31; updated 2026-10-31.

TikTok doesn't pay a fixed amount for 1 million views. Through the Creator Rewards Program it pays per 1,000 qualified views (your RPM), and 2026 estimates from Influencer Marketing Hub and Soundstripe put that at $0.40 to $1.00, or about $400 to $1,000 if all 1 million views qualify.

A million views feels like it should come with a paycheck. On TikTok, whether it does, and how big it is, depends less on the view count than on which views count. TikTok pays creators for views through the Creator Rewards Program, and only certain views on certain videos from certain accounts qualify. This guide explains the program the way TikTok documents it, does the arithmetic, and shows the reported rates with their sources, so you can estimate your own number instead of trusting a single figure.

## The short answer

TikTok doesn't publish a rate per view. Its Help Center explains that the Creator Rewards Program calculates rewards from qualified views and rewards per 1,000 qualified views, which TikTok calls RPM, but it gives no RPM figure. Estimates come from outside TikTok:

- [Influencer Marketing Hub](https://influencermarketinghub.com/how-much-does-tiktok-pay/), in a guide last updated October 1, 2026, says TikTok pays between $0.40 and $1.00 per 1,000 views through the program, and estimates $400 to $1,000 or more for 1 million views. It doesn't say where the range comes from.
- [Soundstripe](https://www.soundstripe.com/blogs/how-much-does-tiktok-pay-per-view), in an article by Taylor Armstrong published August 5, 2026 and updated September 16, 2026, gives the same $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views and says the range comes from creator-reported data, because TikTok doesn't publish a standard RPM.

- $400 to $1,000: Estimate for 1 million qualified views (Influencer Marketing Hub, 2026)
- 1,000: Qualified For You views before a video earns
- 1 minute: Minimum video length
- 10,000: Followers needed to join

*The estimate is a third-party figure. The thresholds are from TikTok's Help Center.*

The catch is the word qualified. A video with 1 million views on its counter can have far fewer qualified views, and a video that doesn't meet the program's rules earns nothing from it at all. The rest of this guide is about telling those cases apart.

| Your situation | What 1 million views earns from the Creator Rewards Program |
| --- | --- |
| Not in the program | Nothing. Views only earn rewards after you join. |
| In the program, video under 1 minute | Nothing. Videos must be at least one minute long. |
| In the program, video posted before you joined | Nothing. Only videos uploaded after joining qualify. |
| In the program, eligible video | Qualified views divided by 1,000, times your RPM, plus any Additional Reward |

> The program details in this guide come from TikTok's Help Center pages as published in January 2026, and TikTok's Community Guidelines as published in October 2026. TikTok changes its programs from time to time, so check the Creator Rewards Program section of TikTok Studio for the current rules in your country.

## How does TikTok pay for views?

The program that pays for views is the Creator Rewards Program. TikTok's [Help Center page for the program](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/creator-rewards-program) describes it as a rewards program for creators who post high-quality, original content, and says it rewards eligible creators based on the performance of videos that meet its requirements.

TikTok splits the money into two parts:

- Standard Reward: calculated from qualified views and rewards per 1,000 qualified views (RPM). This is the part the per-view estimates describe.
- Additional Reward: calculated from how well-crafted, engaging and specialized the content is. TikTok doesn't publish how much this adds.

TikTok says creators keep accumulating rewards as long as they're in the program and their videos keep performing. There's no one-time payment for crossing 1 million views. Each eligible video collects rewards as its qualified views grow.

### How is this different from the old Creator Fund?

TikTok's Help Center has a page on [how the Creator Rewards Program differs from the TikTok Creator Fund](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/how-is-the-creator-rewards-program-different-from-the-tiktok-creator-fund). It says the rewards formula was reworked and offers a higher average gross revenue for qualified views. Videos must be original, high-quality and longer than one minute, which TikTok defines as excluding Duets, Stitches and sponsored content. Creators also get a dashboard with estimated rewards, video performance and eligibility details, and can appeal a video's eligibility.

## How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

TikTok doesn't say. The two 2026 sources above both give $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 views through the Creator Rewards Program. Soundstripe says its range is based on what creators report. Influencer Marketing Hub doesn't name a basis, and adds that actual RPM can vary greatly with region, audience engagement, content quality and watch time.

| Source | Date | Rate it gives | Where the number comes from |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Influencer Marketing Hub | Updated October 1, 2026 | $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 views | Not stated |
| Soundstripe (Taylor Armstrong) | Published August 5, 2026, updated September 16, 2026 | $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views | Creator-reported data |
| TikTok Help Center | January 2026 version | No figure | Explains the formula only |

Treat the range as a rough guide, not a promise. Two sites agreeing doesn't make a number official, and neither publishes a sample size. Your own RPM is the only number that matters for your account, and it shows up in TikTok Studio once you're in the program.

## How much is 1 million views on TikTok? The arithmetic

The Standard Reward formula from TikTok's Help Center is simple: qualified views divided by 1,000, multiplied by RPM. Here's what that gives at the low and high ends of the reported range.

| Qualified views | At $0.40 per 1,000 | At $1.00 per 1,000 |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 100,000 | $40 | $100 |
| 250,000 | $100 | $250 |
| 500,000 | $200 | $500 |
| 750,000 | $300 | $750 |
| 1,000,000 | $400 | $1,000 |
| 5,000,000 | $2,000 | $5,000 |
| 10,000,000 | $4,000 | $10,000 |

1. Start from qualified views, not total views
2. Divide by 1,000
3. Multiply by your RPM
4. Add any Additional Reward TikTok shows

*The Standard Reward formula as TikTok's Help Center describes it.*

### Worked example: the same million views, three outcomes

Imagine three creators whose videos each show 1 million views. The share of qualified views here is invented for the example, because TikTok doesn't publish a typical share.

1. Creator A's video is 45 seconds long. It doesn't meet the one-minute rule, so it earns nothing from the program, whatever the view count.
2. Creator B's video is 3 minutes long and most of its views came from the For You feed. If 700,000 views qualify, that's $280 at $0.40 or $700 at $1.00.
3. Creator C's video is 2 minutes long, but most views came from a big account sharing it and from people opening C's profile. If only 250,000 views came from For You and qualify, that's $100 to $250.

Same view counter, very different results. That's why it's more useful to ask how many of your views qualify than how much TikTok pays for a million.

### Why the same views pay differently

Even with identical qualified views, two creators can see different totals. Influencer Marketing Hub says RPM varies with region, audience engagement, content quality and watch time. On top of the Standard Reward, TikTok's Additional Reward depends on how well-crafted, engaging and specialized a video is, so a careful, focused video can earn more per view than a quick one, even before RPM differences.

### When does a video start earning?

TikTok's Help Center says eligible videos start collecting rewards once they reach 1,000 qualified For You feed views. Below that, a video earns nothing from the program, even if the account is in good standing.

## What counts as a qualified view on TikTok?

This is where most of the difference between total views and paid views comes from. TikTok's Help Center defines qualified views as unique video views from the For You feed, and lists what it excludes: views with fraud, paid views, disliked views, views with less than 5 seconds watched, promoted views and artificial views.

The same page adds three details about the 1,000-view threshold: views from the same account are counted only once per video, views must be longer than 5 seconds, and views from people who said they're not interested aren't counted.

**Counts as qualified**
- A view from the For You feed
- Watched for more than 5 seconds
- The first view from each account
- An organic, unpaid view

**Doesn't count**
- Repeat views from the same account
- Views under 5 seconds
- Views from people who chose Not interested
- Paid, promoted, fraudulent or artificial views

*TikTok's definition of a qualified view, from its Help Center.*

### Why For You views matter so much

Because qualified views come from the For You feed, views from other places don't count toward rewards under TikTok's definition. That includes people opening your profile, finding the video in search, or watching in their Following feed. A video that goes viral through shares to people who already follow you can earn less than one that spreads through For You recommendations.

If your videos aren't reaching For You in the first place, our guide to [why your TikTok isn't getting views](/blog/why-is-my-tiktok-not-getting-views) covers what TikTok says about recommendations and what makes a video ineligible.

### Promote and paid views

TikTok's Promote tool is advertising you pay for to get more people to discover your content, according to TikTok's account types page. The Creator Rewards Program excludes promoted and paid views from qualified views, so promoting a video can raise its view count without raising its rewards by the same amount.

## Who can join the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?

TikTok's Help Center lists these requirements to join and collect rewards:

| Requirement | What TikTok asks for |
| --- | --- |
| Location | Based in a country where the program is available |
| Age | At least 18 (19 in South Korea) |
| Followers | At least 10,000 |
| Views | At least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days |
| Account type | A Personal Account. Business Accounts and political or government accounts aren't eligible. |
| Standing | Good standing, with no history of repeated or irresponsible violations of the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service |
| Account details | Authentic information, such as your real name and date of birth |
| Content | Original content that's eligible for rewards, in videos at least one minute long |

**Ready to apply?**
- [ ] You're 18 or older (19 in South Korea)
- [ ] You live where the program is available
- [ ] You have a Personal Account, not a Business Account
- [ ] You have at least 10,000 followers
- [ ] You had 100,000+ video views in the last 30 days
- [ ] Your account is in good standing
- [ ] You post original videos of one minute or more

*If any box is unchecked, fix that first. TikTok reviews every application.*

If you switched to a Business Account for its tools, note the trade-off. TikTok's [account types page](https://support.tiktok.com/en/using-tiktok/growing-your-audience/switching-to-a-creator-or-business-account) says Business Accounts use the Commercial Music Library rather than the general music library, and the Creator Rewards Program requires a Personal Account. TikTok also advises against switching back and forth between the two.

TikTok's Community Guidelines add that you must be 18 or older to use any monetization feature, and that creators in every monetization program must follow the Creator Code of Conduct.

### What if you have fewer than 10,000 followers?

You can't join the Creator Rewards Program yet, so a viral video before you reach the threshold earns nothing from it. That video can still get you there: if it brings in followers and pushes you past 100,000 views in 30 days, you can apply, and your next eligible videos can earn. Two things help in the meantime:

- Make your profile worth following when a video takes off. A clear bio tells new viewers what they'll get if they follow. The free [TikTok bio generator](/tools/tiktok-bio-generator) can draft one.
- Bring in people who already follow you elsewhere. If you have an audience on YouTube, Instagram or X, point them to your TikTok. Our guide to [cross-posting to several networks](/blog/how-to-cross-post-to-multiple-platforms) covers sharing the same video in more places.
- Look at Series if you already sell premium content. TikTok says creators under 10,000 followers can apply for Series by linking to premium content they've sold on another platform.

## Which TikTok videos earn rewards?

Joining is half of it. Each video also has to meet the program's content rules. TikTok's Help Center says a video must:

- Be original and high quality, filmed, designed and produced entirely by you.
- Be at least one minute long.
- Be uploaded after you joined the program.
- Reach at least 1,000 qualified For You feed views.
- Follow TikTok's Community Guidelines, Terms of Service and Copyright Policy.

TikTok also lists what a video or account must not contain, including copied content or account details, advertisements, paid promotions, sponsored content, videos linked to a Series, disinformation, and fake or underage account information.

### Do photo posts or LIVEs earn Creator Rewards?

Not under the program's rules. TikTok's list of content that isn't original includes single or multiple photos, so photo posts don't qualify, and the program's requirements are written around videos of at least one minute. LIVE earns in its own way, through Gifts from viewers, as covered further down. If you post a mix of formats, only your one-minute-plus original videos count toward Creator Rewards.

### What TikTok doesn't count as original

This list from TikTok's Help Center explains a lot of rejected videos:

- Duet or Stitch videos.
- Content copied from others, including videos with someone else's watermark.
- Other people's content with only small changes, such as speeding it up or adding filters, fixed text or stickers.
- Compilations of other people's videos or pictures without new, personal ideas.
- Looping videos, single or multiple photos, or text overlays only.
- Lip syncs, or copyrighted music that plays for more than one minute. TikTok says videos with over a minute of copyrighted music risk being muted.

If you make brand deals, keep them separate in your head: sponsored videos don't earn Creator Rewards, and TikTok's Community Guidelines require commercial content to be disclosed with the content disclosure setting.

## How do I join the Creator Rewards Program?

TikTok's Help Center says creators who meet the requirements apply in the TikTok app:

1. **Open your profile**: In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. **Open TikTok Studio**: Tap the Menu button at the top, then select TikTok Studio.
3. **Apply**: Tap Creator Rewards Program and follow the steps.

TikTok: Profile › Menu ☰ › TikTok Studio › Creator Rewards Program

*The same path leads to the program dashboard and to appeals once you've joined.*

TikTok says you'll get a reply within about 3 days. Age eligibility is based on the birthday you entered when you created your account, or confirmed during the application. If you're turned down and believe you qualify, you can appeal within 30 days, or reapply 30 days after the appeal period ends.

- Day 0: Apply in TikTok Studio
- About 3 days: TikTok replies to your application
- After joining: New videos of 1 minute or more can qualify
- 1,000 qualified views: A video starts collecting rewards
- Within 30 days of a notice: Appeal a rejected account or video

*Timings from TikTok's Help Center. Appeal reviews also take about 3 days.*

## Why did my video get 1 million views but earn so little?

If your dashboard shows less than you expected, one of these is usually the reason. Each comes straight from the program rules above.

**Your video passed 1 million views. Why so little in rewards?**
- It's shorter than one minute → It can't earn from the program. Make your next video one minute or longer.
- You posted it before you joined → Only videos uploaded after joining qualify. Rewards start with your next eligible post.
- Most views came from shares, search or your profile → Only unique For You views over 5 seconds count, so far fewer views qualified.
- The dashboard marks it ineligible → Read the reason TikTok gives, and appeal within 30 days if you think it's wrong.

*Check these four before assuming your RPM is low.*

A few other causes are worth ruling out. Views from people who tapped Not interested don't count. If you promoted the video, those views don't count either. And if the video was flagged as unoriginal, for example because it uses someone else's clip with small edits, it won't collect rewards.

### How to appeal

TikTok's Help Center says every flag and disqualification can be appealed within 30 days, and video appeals don't affect your account. To appeal, go to Profile, the Menu button, TikTok Studio and Creator Rewards Program. If your account was disqualified, tap Appeal at the bottom. If a video was disqualified, tap the ineligible video, then Appeal. You can also appeal from the notification TikTok sends to your inbox. TikTok says reviews take about 3 days.

## Where do I see how much TikTok paid me?

In TikTok Studio. TikTok's [Help Center page on TikTok Studio](https://support.tiktok.com/en/using-tiktok/creating-videos/tiktok-studio) says its Monetize section shows your rewards across your active programs:

- Estimated rewards from the past 7 days.
- Your total balance.
- Rewards analytics, showing how you're collecting rewards.
- Programs for you, with other monetization programs you could join.
- Active programs you're enrolled in.

TikTok Studio is also a separate app for people 18 and older, and TikTok says the same tools are available in a more limited form in the TikTok app and in a web browser. Its Analytics section shows views, viewers and follower data for all your posts.

> Rewards aren't final until a video stays up. TikTok's Help Center says that if a video is later removed for breaking the Community Guidelines, rewards already collected on it are deducted from your balance.

## What else can you earn from 1 million views?

The Creator Rewards Program is only one way to earn. TikTok's page on [how creators can monetize](https://support.tiktok.com/en/using-tiktok/growing-your-audience/how-can-creators-earn-on-tiktok) lists TikTok One, the Creator Rewards Program and TikTok LIVE, and TikTok's Community Guidelines list LIVE gifting, TikTok Shop, the Creator Rewards Program, TikTok Series, TikTok Subscriptions, TikTok Location Services and TikTok Ads as monetization features. None of them pays per view, but a video with a million views can bring people to all of them.

| Program | How it pays | Key requirement TikTok lists |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Creator Rewards Program | Rewards per qualified view, plus Additional Reward | 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in 30 days, videos of 1 minute or more |
| TikTok LIVE and Gifts | Viewers send virtual Gifts during your LIVE | 18 or older to go LIVE |
| Series | Viewers buy access to a paid collection of up to 80 videos | 18 or older, 10,000 followers, 1,000 views in 30 days, 3 public posts in 30 days |
| TikTok One | Brands and creators work together on campaigns | Details in TikTok's Business Help Center |

### TikTok LIVE

TikTok's [age requirements for LIVE](https://support.tiktok.com/en/safety-hc/account-and-user-safety/age-requirements-for-tiktok-live) page says you must be 18 or older to go LIVE, and TikTok may ask you to confirm your age first. Its Community Guidelines add that you must also be 18 or older to send Gifts. TikTok's monetization page says LIVE lets you collect virtual Gifts and offer subscriptions to your content, if you meet the requirements.

### Series

TikTok's [Series page](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-series/about-tiktok-series) says eligible creators can put premium content behind a paywall: up to 80 videos per Series, each 30 seconds to 20 minutes long. You need to be 18 or older (19 in South Korea), with a public account at least 30 days old, 3 or more public posts in the last 30 days, 10,000 or more followers and 1,000 or more views in the last 30 days. TikTok says creators with fewer than 10,000 followers can still apply by linking to premium content they've sold elsewhere. Videos linked to a Series can't earn Creator Rewards.

## What can get you removed from the program?

Getting in isn't permanent. TikTok's Help Center lists rules for creators after they're accepted, and says breaking them can lead to temporary or permanent removal, depending on how serious it is:

- No fake activity, such as buying views or inflating follower counts.
- No tampering, or trying to tamper, with the program, the reward system or the recommendation system.
- No software or modified code that artificially adds likes, follows, views, comments or shares.
- No false statements, abusive content or illegal activity, including fraud, connected to the program.

TikTok says it periodically reviews accounts in the program. Its Community Guidelines also say content that isn't eligible for the For You feed may be restricted from monetization, repeated violations can lead to permanent loss of monetization features, and undisclosed commercial content may be removed from the For You feed.

## How can I earn more per million views?

You can't set your RPM, but you can control how many of your views qualify and how often you post eligible videos.

- Make every video you want paid for at least one minute long. TikTok's [audience growth tips](https://support.tiktok.com/en/using-tiktok/growing-your-audience/how-to-grow-your-audience) also recommend creating content longer than one minute.
- Keep it yours. Film and edit it yourself, and skip watermarked clips, Duets and Stitches for videos you want rewarded.
- Aim for For You. Since only For You views qualify, content that's eligible for recommendation matters more than shares to existing followers.
- Hold attention past 5 seconds. Views under 5 seconds don't count, so the opening matters.
- Post regularly. TikTok's growth tips recommend uploading high-quality content on a regular basis.
- Check your numbers weekly. TikTok Studio shows estimated rewards for the past 7 days, which is enough to spot which videos pay.

Posting on a steady schedule is easier if you plan ahead. PostMesh can schedule TikTok videos up to 30 days in advance and posts them through TikTok's official Content Posting API, with the privacy and disclosure settings TikTok asks for. See [how to schedule TikTok videos](/blog/how-to-schedule-tiktok-videos) and [what PostMesh supports on TikTok](/platform/tiktok). To pick times, our guide to the [best time to post on TikTok](/blog/best-time-to-post-on-tiktok) compares the 2025 and 2026 studies.

For the writing side, the free [TikTok caption generator](/tools/tiktok-caption-generator) and [TikTok hashtag generator](/tools/tiktok-hashtag-generator) give you a starting draft, and the [TikTok caption counter](/tools/tiktok-caption-character-counter) checks it against TikTok's limit. If you track performance outside TikTok Studio, the [engagement rate calculator](/tools/engagement-rate-calculator) turns a video's likes, comments, shares and saves into an engagement rate by views, so you can compare videos fairly.

### How does this compare with YouTube?

YouTube works differently, with revenue shares instead of a per-view reward pool. If you post on both, see our guides to [how much YouTube pays per 1,000 views](/blog/how-much-does-youtube-pay-per-1000-views), [how much YouTube pays for 1 million views](/blog/how-much-does-youtube-pay-for-1-million-views) and [when YouTube starts paying you](/blog/when-does-youtube-start-paying-you).

## Questions

### Does TikTok pay for views?

Yes, through the Creator Rewards Program, but only for qualified views on eligible videos from accepted creators. Ordinary accounts outside the program aren't paid for views.

### How much does TikTok pay for 100,000 views?

At the $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views reported by Influencer Marketing Hub and Soundstripe in 2026, 100,000 qualified views works out to about $40 to $100. Views that don't qualify add nothing.

### Do TikTok videos under one minute make money?

Not from the Creator Rewards Program, which requires videos of at least one minute. Shorter videos can still help with LIVE, Series or brand deals.

### Do views from my profile or search count?

Not for Creator Rewards. TikTok defines qualified views as unique views from the For You feed, watched for more than 5 seconds.

### How many followers do you need to get paid on TikTok?

10,000 for the Creator Rewards Program, plus 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Series also asks for 10,000 followers, though TikTok lets some smaller creators apply.

### Can a Business Account join the Creator Rewards Program?

No. TikTok's Help Center says the program needs a Personal Account, and Business Accounts and political or government accounts aren't eligible.

### How long does TikTok take to approve the Creator Rewards Program?

TikTok says you'll get a reply within about 3 days of applying. Appeals also take about 3 days.

### Why are my qualified views lower than my total views?

Repeat views, views under 5 seconds, views from outside For You, promoted views and views from people who chose Not interested are all excluded.

### Can TikTok take back rewards?

Yes. If a video is removed later for breaking the Community Guidelines, TikTok deducts the rewards it had already collected from your balance.

### Is the Creator Rewards Program available in every country?

No. TikTok says you must be based in a country where the program is available. TikTok Studio shows whether you can apply.
