# Data deletion

> How to remove a connected network, your uploaded media or your whole PostMesh workspace, and the confirmation page for Meta data deletion requests.

Effective 2026-11-01.

You can remove your data from PostMesh at any time. This page explains each option. For what we collect and why, see our [Privacy Policy](https://postmesh.app/legal/privacy).

## 1. Disconnect a network

Open Connections and disconnect the account. We delete its stored tokens and connection record from our database right away; for Reddit and YouTube, we also ask the network to revoke the token. Copies in backups expire on their normal schedule.

Revoking PostMesh only in a network’s own settings stops our access, but for X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube the stored connection stays in PostMesh until you disconnect it there. For Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, Meta tells us and we delete it (see [Meta deletion requests](https://postmesh.app/legal/data-deletion#facebook)).

## 2. Export your data first

In Settings under Data & privacy you can download your account ID and email, drafts, publishing history, connected accounts (without tokens), posting-time settings, and plan status before you delete anything. Uploaded media files, agent chats, brand-voice samples, and Clip Factory jobs aren’t in the export; email us if you want a copy.

## 3. Delete your uploaded media

Files you upload are stored at long, random web addresses so networks can fetch them. Deleting a draft or a history entry doesn’t delete the file yet. Deleting your account deletes all of your files. To have them deleted without closing your account, email hello@postmesh.app from your account email and we’ll delete them by hand.

## 4. Delete your whole workspace

In Settings under Data & privacy, choose Delete account, type DELETE and confirm it’s you with a passkey or an email code. Right away, PostMesh cancels your subscription and expires any open checkout, cancels your scheduled posts, asks TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit and Google to revoke its access, disconnects your connected accounts and revokes your API keys. For 7 days you can sign in and cancel the deletion; your posts, drafts, media and settings stay, but your plan, connections and API keys don’t come back. After 7 days PostMesh deletes your uploaded media files, deletes your Stripe customer record, deletes your account and the data linked to it in our database (drafts, history, agent chats and brand voice, Clip Factory jobs, settings, API keys, and connected accounts), and then deletes your sign-in. We email you a receipt with a code; open /legal/data-deletion?receipt= followed by that code to confirm the deletion finished. We keep billing records the law requires, Stripe keeps its own payment records, and copies in backups expire on their normal schedule. If you had a free trial, we keep hashed card fingerprints and social account IDs from it, no longer linked to your account, to prevent repeat trials.

## 5. Posts already published

Deleting data from PostMesh does not delete a post already published on a social network. Delete that post on the network if you want it removed there.

## 6. Meta deletion requests

If you remove PostMesh from Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, or submit a data deletion request there, Meta sends PostMesh a signed request. We verify it and delete the connections stored for that user on that network. This page is the confirmation URL returned to Meta, and it shows your confirmation code when you arrive from that request.

**What a Meta request removes.** The matching Facebook Page, Instagram, or Threads access tokens and connection records are deleted from PostMesh. Posts already published on Facebook, Instagram, or Threads stay on those networks until you delete them there.

## 7. Who we are
