# Bluesky scheduler: schedule Bluesky posts

Yes. PostMesh publishes text, photo and video posts to Bluesky, signed in with Bluesky’s own OAuth, right away or scheduled up to 12 months ahead. Each post can be up to 300 characters, with no media or up to 4 photos or one video.

## What you need

- A Bluesky account.
- Your full handle, like name.bsky.social, or your own domain if you use one. You sign in on Bluesky next; no app password is needed.

## Bluesky at a glance

- **Account:** Any Bluesky account, connected with Bluesky’s own OAuth sign-in. No password or app password is shared.
- **Text:** Up to 300 characters, counted the way Bluesky counts them: an emoji is one.
- **Each post:** Text only, up to 4 photos or one video.
- **Photos:** Any JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF up to 40 MB. Bluesky takes JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 1,000,000 bytes, and gets a JPEG copy that fits when a photo doesn’t.
- **Video:** MP4, MOV, WebM or MPEG, 1 second to 3 minutes, up to 100 MB.
- **Options:** A quote of another Bluesky post, alt text on each photo or the video, a preview card for a link in the text (on unless you switch it off) and the post’s language.
- **Scheduling:** Up to 12 months ahead. PostMesh sends it within a minute of the time you pick.
- **Analytics:** None yet: PostMesh doesn’t read Bluesky post metrics yet.

## How to post to Bluesky

1. **Connect Bluesky.** Type your Bluesky handle, then sign in on Bluesky and approve PostMesh. We never see your password.
2. **Open New post.** Pick the Bluesky accounts you want, plus any other networks.
3. **Write the post.** Up to 300 characters. Give Bluesky its own shorter version if your main caption is longer.
4. **Add media.** Add up to 4 photos (JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 1,000,000 bytes) or one video (MP4, MOV, WebM or MPEG, 1 second to 3 minutes, up to 100 MB), or keep it text only.
5. **Post now or schedule.** Under When, choose Now to send it right away, or Later and a time up to 12 months ahead.
6. **Check the result.** Posts shows whether Bluesky accepted it. If it failed, Retry failed sends again only to the accounts that failed.

## Fixes for common errors

- **Bluesky sign-in was cancelled:** Connect again and allow access on Bluesky.
- **“That isn’t a Bluesky handle”:** Type your full handle, like name.bsky.social, then try again.
- **The post is over 300 characters:** Give Bluesky its own shorter version in the composer.
- **A video is rejected:** Use MP4, MOV, WebM or MPEG between 1 second and 3 minutes, under 100 MB.

## What PostMesh can see

- **Sees:** Your Bluesky handle, display name and profile photo, and the posts you send from PostMesh.
- **Never sees:** Your password, your app passwords, or your direct messages: PostMesh doesn’t ask for chat access.

### Do I need an app password?

No. PostMesh connects with Bluesky’s OAuth sign-in, so you sign in on Bluesky itself and never share a password or an app password.

### Can I quote another post?

Yes. Paste the post’s link in Quote a post, in Bluesky’s settings in New post, and yours goes out quoting it.

### Does PostMesh post to Bluesky automatically?

Yes. It posts through Bluesky’s official API at the time you pick. There’s no phone reminder to tap.

### How far ahead can I schedule Bluesky posts?

Up to 12 months. PostMesh checks its queue every minute and sends each post when it’s due.

### Can I post to several Bluesky accounts at once?

Yes. Pick every account you want in New post. Each one counts toward your plan’s connected-account limit.

### Can I change a scheduled post?

Yes. Open it in Posts, select Edit, make your changes and select Save changes. A post that has started sending can’t be changed.

### Is there a free plan?

No. Creator, Growth and Pro all start with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, and you can cancel before it ends.
