# Schedule Telegram channel and group posts

> Post messages, photos and videos to your Telegram channels and groups through the PostMesh bot, now or on a schedule.

Yes. PostMesh posts messages, photos, videos and albums to your Telegram channels and groups through its own bot, right away or scheduled up to 12 months ahead. You add the bot as an admin, so nobody signs in or shares a phone number.

## What you need

- A Telegram channel or group you’re an admin of.
- The right to add admins there, so the PostMesh bot can be made an admin that can post.

## Telegram at a glance

- **Account:** Telegram channels and groups you’re an admin of. PostMesh posts as its own bot, so nobody signs in or shares a phone number.
- **Text:** Up to 4,096 characters. Links get a preview.
- **Each post:** Text only or up to 10 photos and videos. Two or more go out as one album; a GIF goes on its own.
- **Photos:** Any JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF up to 40 MB. Telegram takes JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB, GIFs up to 50 MB, and gets a JPEG copy that fits when a photo doesn’t. A caption over 1,024 characters is sent as its own message right after.
- **Video:** MP4 or MOV, up to 50 MB.
- **Scheduling:** Up to 12 months ahead. PostMesh sends it within a minute of the time you pick.
- **Analytics:** None: Telegram doesn’t share views, reactions or forwards with bots.

## How to post to Telegram

1. **Connect Telegram.** In Connections, add the PostMesh bot to your channel or group as an admin. A one-time code tells PostMesh which chat is yours; nobody signs in.
2. **Open New post.** Pick the Telegram chats you want, plus any other networks.
3. **Write the message.** Up to 4,096 characters. With photos or a video, a caption over 1,024 characters is sent as its own message right after.
4. **Add media.** Add up to 10 photos and videos, or keep it text only. Two or more go out as one album.
5. **Post now or schedule.** Under When, choose Now to send it right away, or Later and a time up to 12 months ahead.
6. **Check the result.** Posts shows whether Telegram accepted it. If it failed, Retry failed sends again only to the accounts that failed.

## Not supported

- Posting as yourself instead of the bot
- Private chats with people
- Polls

## Fixes for common errors

- **“Make the PostMesh bot an admin of the chat”:** Add the bot as an admin, then post the code again.
- **“Only an admin of the chat can connect it”:** Ask an admin of the channel or group to post the code.
- **The bot can’t post in the chat anymore:** Add it back as an admin, then reconnect the chat in Connections.

## What PostMesh can see

- **Sees:** The chat’s name and id, and whether the PostMesh bot is an admin that can post there.
- **Never sees:** Your Telegram login or phone number. The bot only looks for its connect code and keeps nothing else from the chat.
