# Schedule tweets and posts on X

> Publish text, image and video posts to X, now or on a schedule.

Yes. PostMesh publishes text and image posts to X through the official X API, right away or scheduled up to 12 months ahead. Each post is up to 280 characters (more with X Premium) with up to 4 images, or a video.

## What you need

- An X account you can post from.

## X (Twitter) at a glance

- **Account:** Any X account, connected with Sign in with X.
- **Text:** Up to 280 characters, or 25,000 on an account with X Premium.
- **Each post:** Text only, up to 4 photos or one video. A GIF goes on its own.
- **Photos:** Any JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF up to 40 MB. X takes JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP up to 5 MB, GIFs up to 15 MB, and gets a JPEG copy that fits when a photo doesn’t.
- **Video:** MP4 or MOV, 0.5 seconds to 140 seconds, up to 512 MB.
- **Scheduling:** Up to 12 months ahead. PostMesh sends it within a minute of the time you pick.
- **Analytics:** Impressions, likes, replies and reposts for posts sent from PostMesh.

## How to post to X (Twitter)

1. **Connect X (Twitter).** Sign in with X and approve PostMesh. We never see your password.
2. **Open New post.** Pick the X (Twitter) accounts you want, plus any other networks.
3. **Write the post.** Up to 280 characters, or more on an account with X Premium. Give X its own shorter version if your main caption is longer.
4. **Add media.** Add up to 4 photos (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP up to 5 MB, GIFs up to 15 MB) or one video (MP4 or MOV, 0.5 seconds to 140 seconds, up to 512 MB), or keep it text only.
5. **Post now or schedule.** Under When, choose Now to send it right away, or Later and a time up to 12 months ahead.
6. **Check the result.** Posts shows whether X (Twitter) accepted it. If it failed, Retry failed sends again only to the accounts that failed.

## Fixes for common errors

- **The post is over 280 characters:** Give X its own shorter version in the composer.
- **A video is rejected:** Use MP4 or MOV between 0.5 seconds and 140 seconds, under 512 MB.
- **X could not connect:** Try again in a few minutes and accept the requested permissions.

## What PostMesh can see

- **Sees:** Your X handle, name, profile photo and verification badge, and the impressions, likes, replies and reposts on posts you send from PostMesh.
- **Never sees:** Your password or your Direct Messages.

Yes. MP4 or MOV, 0.5 seconds to 140 seconds, up to 512 MB.

### Does PostMesh read my DMs?

No. PostMesh doesn’t ask for Direct Message access.

### Does PostMesh post to X (Twitter) automatically?

Yes. It posts through X (Twitter)’s official API at the time you pick. There’s no phone reminder to tap.

### How far ahead can I schedule X (Twitter) posts?

Up to 12 months. PostMesh checks its queue every minute and sends each post when it’s due.

### Can I post to several X (Twitter) accounts at once?

Yes. Pick every account you want in New post. Each one counts toward your plan’s connected-account limit.

### Can I change a scheduled post?

Yes. Open it in Posts, select Edit, make your changes and select Save changes. A post that has started sending can’t be changed.
