Describe your photo or video, pick a tone, and get a handful of captions to choose from and edit.

## How it works

The captions are written by AI from what you type and nothing else. Treat them as a starting point: edit them so they sound like you, and check names are free before you rely on them.

It’s free without an account, with a few tries a day per visitor so it stays free. What you type is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to write the results. OpenAI does not use API content to train models by default.

## Steps

1. Describe your photo or video.

2. Pick a tone.

3. Press Write, then copy the one you like.

## What makes a good caption

- Make the first line work alone: it’s all people see before “more”.
- Write for the image or video, not around it.
- End with one clear ask.

## Questions

### Is it free?

Yes. You don’t need an account. There’s a daily limit per visitor so it stays free for everyone.

### Who writes the results?

An AI model from OpenAI, given only what you type. OpenAI doesn’t train its models on this data by default.

### Can I use the results as they are?

You can, but edit them so they sound like you, and for names, check they’re available first.

Interactive controls are available on the HTML page. Image and text utilities run in the browser; AI writers submit descriptions to PostMesh and OpenAI.
