# Instagram carousel splitter

Canonical: https://postmesh.app/tools/instagram-carousel-splitter

Split one wide image into 2 to 10 slides that line up as you swipe, for a seamless Instagram carousel.

## How it works

Pick how many slides and whether they’re square or portrait, and the splitter cuts the image into equal slides, each 1080 px wide, in order.

Every slide in a carousel is shown in the same shape, so all slides here share one. It runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.

## Steps

1. Choose a wide image.

2. Pick the number of slides and their shape.

3. Download the slides and post them in order.

## Questions

### How many slides can it make?

From 2 to 10, the number Instagram’s publishing API accepts in one carousel.

### Why do all slides have the same shape?

A carousel shows every slide in one shape, so slides that differ get cropped.

### Is my image uploaded?

No. It’s split in your browser.
