# Instagram photo resizer

Canonical: https://postmesh.app/tools/instagram-photo-resizer

Drop in an image to crop and resize it to Instagram’s post size. Your image stays on your device.

## How it works

These are export canvas presets. Check the linked platform guidance for current upload requirements and cropping. Pick a size, move the crop to frame what matters, and download a file at exactly those dimensions.

Resizing runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded to PostMesh.

## Steps

1. Choose an image.

2. Pick a size and adjust the crop sliders.

3. Download the resized file.

## Sizes in this tool

| Preset | Pixels | Shape |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Square post | 1,080 × 1,080 | 1:1 |
| Portrait post (4:5) | 1,080 × 1,350 | 4:5 |
| Landscape post | 1,080 × 566 | 540:283 |
| Story / Reel cover | 1,080 × 1,920 | 9:16 |
| Profile photo | 400 × 400 | 1:1 |

Presets are export sizes that suit each spot. Where a network sets a minimum or a file limit, its own help page has the final word: the tool links to it.

## Getting a clean crop

- Start from the largest original you have: enlarging a small image can’t add detail.
- Keep faces and text away from the edges, where profile circles and phone screens crop.
- Download a PNG for logos and text, a JPEG for photos.
