# YouTube money calculator

Canonical: https://postmesh.app/tools/youtube-money-calculator

Enter views and your RPM from YouTube Studio to estimate what a video or month of views earns.

## How it works

YouTube defines RPM (revenue per mille) as what you’ve earned per 1,000 video views, after YouTube’s revenue share. It includes ads, channel memberships, YouTube Premium revenue, Super Chat and Super Stickers.

RPM varies a lot by topic, audience country and season, so the calculator uses your own number instead of an average. Find it in YouTube Studio under Analytics, then Revenue.

## Steps

1. Open YouTube Studio, then Analytics, then Revenue, and note your RPM.

2. Enter the views you want to estimate.

3. Read the estimate and the formula behind it.

## Questions

### What’s the difference between RPM and CPM?

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions, before YouTube’s share. RPM is what you earn per 1,000 views, after it.

### Why don’t you show an average RPM?

It depends too much on topic, audience and season for one number to be useful. Your own RPM is the reliable input.

### Where do I find my RPM?

In YouTube Studio, under Analytics, then Revenue, once your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program.
